Genoa have reportedly found a replacement for Stefano Capozucca as sporting director, with Rino Foschi returning to the position.
President Enrico Preziosi removed Capozucca from his position as ds at the club after Week 10’s defeat to Fiorentina, thanking him for his service but confirming that he was ‘known not to be in the long-term plans’ of the club.
Ending an eight-year association between Capozucca and the club, Preziosi also sacked Mario Donatelli as technical director of the youth sector, to follow up on Gigi De Canio’s recent removal as Coach and Pietro Lo Monaco’s exit as CEO.
In place of Capozucca returns Foschi, who previously spent a brief summer as the club’s sporting director in 2008. Foschi is best known for building the Palermo side that under Maurizio Zamparini’s Presidency were promoted from Serie B and then qualified for the UEFA Cup.
