President Maurizio Zamparini has warned of a January revolution at Palermo, taking out “those players who do not have character or heart.”

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini already hinted at a clear-out of the squad after their 4-1 defeat to Roma on Sunday evening, as he doubted the commitment of his players.

“In January we will make moves,” Zamparini told Radio Action.

“Those players who do not have character or heart will go and in their place will arrive players more functional for the Coach’s style of football.”

The side was built for Giuseppe Sannino’s 4-4-2 system, but he was fired after three rounds and replaced by Gasperini’s three-man defence.

“We have shown some good football. Bad luck continues to track us, but we must resume from the good work we have done so far,” concluded the President.
