Gigi Del Neri warns Genoa they must “not just focus on Edinson Cavani” as it looks as if their game with Napoli will go ahead despite flood warnings.

There were reports this morning that the match, which kicks off at 14.00 GMT on Sunday, would be called off after the Mayor ordered a lockdown of the city until midday tomorrow.

However, it now seems as if the game will go ahead as planned, but the referee will make the final decision on the state of the notoriously choppy Stadio Luigi Ferraris pitch.

“We are facing a great team full of players at the highest level,” pointed out Coach Del Neri.

All eyes will be on El Matador, especially after he scored four goals in Thursday’s 4-2 Europa League win over Dnipro.

“Cavani is not the only element who deserves to be feared, as they have many stars who can make the difference.

“It’s up to us to build a great performance and I ask the team to be more determined in going forward. They must take the initiative.”

So far Del Neri has lost all three of his games in charge after replacing Gigi De Canio, but hopes to have Marco Rossi back in the squad following a long injury lay-off.

There are reports Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri will not be holding a Press conference before the match, as he wants to concentrate on the team following a week of health scares.
