Pulga: 'Perfection' to beat Inter

Cagliari Coach Ivo Pulga acknowledges that it’ll take “a perfect performance and some luck” to get the better of Inter.

The Sardinians had been on remarkable form since he replaced Massimo Ficcadenti, but were beaten by Fiorentina and then held to a goalless draw by Catania.

“We are aware of the fact Inter have a superior squad to ours and that in order to bring home a positive result we must be perfect,” said Pulga.

“It will take a perfect performance and some luck, so we cannot afford any distractions. It has happened too often that a small team has played really well against a big club and still left empty-handed. They punish the slightest hiccup.

“The way I see it, if we repeat the performance we put in against Catania in terms of intensity, but are more precise in front of goal, then we can achieve something.

“Last Saturday the ball just did not want to go in. We require the right balance between defence and attack, as we have to propose something going forward.”

Cagliari squad for Inter: Agazzi, Avramov; Astori, Avelar, Del Fabro, Perico, Pisano, Rossettini; Casarini, Conti, Cossu, Dessena, Ekdal, Nainggolan; Ibarbo, Nenè, Pinilla, Sau, Thiago Ribeiro
