Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini has quickly dismissed suggestions that the club could re-sign Javier Pastore.

The Argentine talent has been paired with a return to Sicily after leaving the Rosanero in August 2011 for Paris Saint-Germain at a cost of €43m.

“I can say with certainty that he won’t return to Palermo,” Zamparini commented. “It would be great if he did come back, but it is impossible.

“He is currently finding some difficulties in Paris because there is Zlatan Ibrahimovic who puts everyone else in the shadows.

“Anyhow, we are only looking for new wide players for boss Gian Piero Gasperini during the January window.”

Pastore has just one goal and three assists in 10 games for the French giants so far this season.
