Catania President Antonino Pulvirenti has claimed that it is impossible for his side to finish in the European places this season.
The Elefanti are currently eighth in Serie A having won five of their first 14 League matches, but the 50-year-old owner has rubbished fans early optimism that they could make the top six.
“There are six places to play for,” he told reporters. “And if we look at the teams ahead of us, we should realise that it is a dream that cannot be achieved.
“We are aiming to avoid relegation, and that's it.”
