Inter defender Alvaro Pereira has praised Italian football after his summer move from Porto.
The 26-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from the Portuguese champions during pre-season, and has been impressed by the standard of the game on the peninsula.
“Football is the same language in Italy and Portugal,” he told Inter Channel. “But tactically there are some key differences.
“In Portugal there is more freedom, with four or five good teams. But that's not the case in Italy.
“In Italian football almost all the opponents are of the same level."
He also commented on his first few months at San Siro, and his in consistent start to the campaign.
“I played as a quarterback in Portugal, but I prefer to play in a more offensive role. I'm going to have to adapt to my new team and to what the Coach wants.”
