Gian Piero Gasperini is resigned to the fact San Siro and Inter represent only “disappointment and regret” in his career.

He was sacked after just five official games last season and today saw his Palermo side lose 1-0 due to a Santiago Garcia own goal.

“We gave Inter a big present today. It’s a shame, as we played a decent game,” said the Coach.

“Garcia was unlucky and unfortunately we are paying the price for these mistakes, especially away from home. It’s a shame, as Samir Ujkani barely had a save to make.

“My return to Milan was pleasant, because I did create a good rapport with many people despite the fact I wasn’t here for long.

“This defeat represents disappointment and regret, joining what I felt at being with Inter for such a short space of time and not being given the chance to work here.

“This Inter side could win the Scudetto and has potential in attack that is on a par with the others.”
