Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura was taken ill and checked by ambulance staff after the 4-2 defeat to Milan.

The tactician turns 65 next month and felt unwell during this afternoon’s Serie A game. He came out for the second half slightly later than the team and sat on the bench, leaving his assistant Salvatore Sullo to give directions from the touchline.

After the final whistle he was still feeling poorly and the chief medic accompanied him for check-ups with the ambulance staff in the Stadio Olimpico.

“The Coach felt unwell, but everything is fine now,” assured assistant manager Sullo. “It was nothing in particular and now he will go home to rest.

“As for the game, we had done well in the first half and then lost our way after the break. We have to compliment Robinho for his wonderful goal, but he shouldn’t have been allowed to get that close.”
