Fabio Liverani is reportedly a contender to net the Genoa job if Gigi Del Neri is axed by the port outfit.
Del Neri’s job is in the balance after a disastrous stint at the Stadio Ferraris so far for the former Sampdoria Coach.
The ex-Juventus man replaced Gigi De Canio earlier this term, but he’s lost seven of his eight games in charge.
Genoa are second from bottom in Serie A and they lost 2-0 at relegation rivals Pescara on Sunday afternoon.
Liverani, a former Serie A playmaker with the likes of Perugia, Palermo, Lazio and Fiorentina, is currently a youth team Coach at Genoa.
There is also the possibility that De Canio could be recalled as he is still under contract with the Rosoblu.
Delio Rossi and Ivan Juric are also being mentioned as possible targets if Del Neri is shown the door.
