Udinese have told admirers of Mehdi Benatia that he will not be sold during the January transfer window.
“At this moment in time, Benatia is not for sale,” President Franco Soldati told Radio CRC on Thursday afternoon.
“He is a really important player for us and we don’t want to deprive ourselves of him. We want to count on him for a few more years yet.”
The 25-year-old defender, who joined the Bianconeri in 2010 from Clermont Foot, has only appeared in seven Serie A games this season.
The Moroccan international has been strongly linked with a move to Napoli in recent weeks.
