Atalanta’s Federico Peluso has admitted that he still has hopes of joining one of Italy’s big clubs.
The left-back was a revelation in Serie A last season and he was subsequently paired with a host of top sides.
However, no move was agreed and he’s still playing his football in Bergamo – although he is now an Italian international.
“I’m already at an important club, but it is obvious that everyone here has ambitions,” the defender noted on Thursday.
“I’m already travelling in a Mercedes, but if one day a Ferrari arrived…”
Peluso was also asked about his feelings about seeing his name in the transfer rumour mill on such a regular basis.
“It was a hard summer for me,” he added. “Now I deal with these rumours in a different way. I take the rumours with a pinch of salt and I’m quite serene about them now.”
Peluso is thought to still be on the transfer radars of Juventus, Napoli and Palermo.
