Atalanta have called Guglielmo Stendardo for the game with Juventus despite suggesting he’d be punished for attending a law exam.
The defender was lambasted by Coach Stefano Colantuono this week when he turned down a call-up for the Coppa Italia tie against Roma on Wednesday.
He had to be in Salerno to sit several exams, as he is finishing off his law degree.
Colantuono and the club warned Stendardo would be punished with a fine or suspension, but he attracted a great deal of attention and positive coverage over the last few days.
Atalanta have now named the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Juventus, including Stendardo.
Atalanta squad for Juventus: Bellini, Biondini, Bonaventura, Brivio, Cazzola, Cigarini, Consigli, De Luca, Denis, Ferreira Pinto, Ferri, Frezzolini, Lucchini, Manfredini, Matheu, Moralez, Peluso, Polito, Radovanovic, Raimondi, Schelotto, Stendardo, Troisi
