Paolo Cannavaro's lawyer his hit out at former Napoli goalkeeper Mattia Gianello for the inconsistent allegations aimed at his client.
The Partenopei captain has been banned for six months alongside vice-captain Gianluca Grava for failing to report the shot-stopper for an alleged incident of match-fixing in 2010 before a game against Sampdoria.
But the centre-back's legal representative has criticised Gianello for changing his story.
“Gianello gave several different versions of the story,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “And every single one of them we have contested.
“Even of the day of the trial he revealed that he had spoken with Grava and Cannavaro in a different place to what had been previously claimed.”
