Lucio has officially signed for Brazilian club Sao Paulo after terminating his contract with Juventus.
The defender had rescinded his deal with Inter in the summer and signed for Juve on a free transfer, but barely set foot on the field.
He terminated his contract by mutual consent on Monday and has now officially put pen to paper for Sao Paulo in Brazil.
“Lucio is a dream come true for us,” said director of sport Baptista after he signed a two-year contract.
The 34-year-old returns to his homeland for the first time since 2001, when he left Internacional for Bayer Leverkusen.
The centre-back went on to play for Bayern Munich, Inter and Juventus.
