The Under-21 Italy side was beaten 4-2 by the B Italia squad this evening, a side representing the best players in Serie B.
This was an unusual friendly test for Devis Mangia’s men in Terni and they found it very hard going.
B Italia went 2-0 up early on through Crotone’s Stefano Pettinari and Bari forward Francesco Fedato, then Chievo’s Alberto Paloschi pulled one back from the penalty spot.
Riccardo Improta restored the two-goal cushion before half-time, though Nicola Bellomo (who is in Serie B with Bari, but playing for the Under-21 side) made it 3-2 from a free kick.
B Italia completed the rout 10 minutes from time with Juve Stabia striker Improta completing his brace.
