Turkish club Besiktas have confirmed an interest in Juventus-owned defender Reto Ziegler.
The Swiss international is currently on loan with Lokomotiv Moscow and the Russian outfit have the option to sign him outright in the summer.
However, speaking with NTV Spor, Besiktas President Fikret Orman has confirmed that the left-back is wanted.
“I can confirm that contact has been made,” he stated. “He is an element who is of interest to our club. We are informing ourselves of what conditions are necessary in order to sign him.
“The fact that he is a former Fenerbahce player makes no difference to us.”
Ziegler was netted by Juventus on a free transfer from Sampdoria in the summer of 2011, but he has never played an official game for the club.
He was loaned to Fenerbahce last season and then was sent to Russia at the start of this campaign.
