The agent of Manchester United’s Federico Macheda has ruled out a January move to Italy for his client.
The 21-year-old is set to leave Old Trafford after Christmas in search of regular first team football, but that won’t be with any Serie A club.
“I can exclude a return to Italy,” Giovanni Bia told Sportitalia. “He could probably do better in La Liga where technique is worth more than physique.
“He’s a boy who has had his injury problems, but Sir Alex Ferguson continues to believe that he can turn into a good player.
“We just have to find the right situation for him at this moment in time.”
Macheda joined Sampdoria on loan in January 2011 from the English giants, but he failed to score in 14 Serie A games as the club were relegated.
