Sampdoria have announced that they intend to keep Pedro Obiang during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old midfielder is being linked with a switch to Napoli, while Juventus are also known to be admirers.
However, new sporting director Carlo Osti has insisted that the Spanish youngster will see out the campaign at Marassi.
“A lot of Italian clubs like him,” Osti, who replaced Pasquale Sensibile last week, commented when questioned on the youngster.
“However, I don’t think that he could leave us next month.
“What will we do on the market? We’ve taken the decision to just take a break from the window until January 7. We’ll then think about our moves.”
Obiang was signed by Sampdoria in 2008 by current Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.
