Juventus have confirmed that they are considering the January capture of Shanghai Shenhua ace Didier Drogba.

The 34-year-old striker, who is also of interest to Milan, could move to Turin this month – but only if the price is right.

“You always make enquiries for players and we have done,” Juve transfer chief Beppe Marotta told La Domenica Sportiva.

“We have noted his availability, but now we will have to verify whether he would be compatible with our finances. Then we’d speak to boss Antonio Conte.”

According to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian champions are ready to offer the former Chelsea man a deal until June 2014 worth €5.5m.

Meanwhile, Marotta was also asked about Fiorentina forwards Giuseppe Rossi – signed on Friday from Villarreal – and Stevan Jovetic.

“Rossi was an emerging player before his injury,” the official, who tried to net him in 2011, added. “I hope that the boy recovers to his best.

“As for this transfer, we didn’t get involved at all. To be honest, we didn’t interfere with Fiorentina’s summer bid for Dimitar Berbatov either…”

The arrival of Rossi has fuelled talk that the Viola are preparing to sell Jovetic, a player who is liked in Turin.

“He’s a great player, one certainly of interest,” Marotta explained. “He’s a great talent with a future seeing his age and his qualities.

“We, however, have never really been in concrete negotiations with Fiorentina for him – and we don’t intend to at this moment in time.”
