Siena director Stefano Antonelli has confirmed “Marcelo Larrondo will join Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal.”
The move had been touted for some time and looks to be going through within days or even hours.
“Larrondo will join Fiorentina in a co-ownership deal,” Antonelli told Fiorentinanews.com.
“We really like Ruben Olivera and Francesco Della Rocca in Fiorentina’s squad, but I think these will be two different and distinct negotiations.”
Larrondo is a 24-year-old Argentine who has been in the Siena first team since 2009, scoring eight goals in 59 games.
He was in the River Plate youth academy before coming to Italy in 2008.
Larrondo was banned for three months and 20 days with a €30,000 fine for his part in the betting scandal, turning the charge from sporting fraud to failing to report a potential fix to the authorities.
