No ligament damage for Osvaldo

Tests have ruled out any knee ligament damage to striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Roma have confirmed.

There were fears that the Italian international could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after limping out of training on Wednesday following a tackle from Nicolas Burdisso.

The Argentine-born forward has since had scans on his right knee which just showed heavy bruising. He remains a doubt for the Catania game though.

The former Fiorentina man took no part in this morning’s session. He instead worked with the physiotherapist.

Meanwhile, centre-back Marquinhos was missing from Trigoria as he is struggling with a cold and a fever.

Fellow stopper Leandro Castan is also worrying boss Zdenek Zeman as he is dealing with swelling to his fifth metatarsal.
