Inter chief Massimo Moratti is hoping that Wesley Sneijder will give Galatasaray a transfer answer within the next 24 hours.
The Turkish club have agreed a fee with the Nerazzurri, while they’ve also made an offer to the player himself.
Galatasaray’s Vice-President has indicated that they would like an answer by tonight and Moratti is equally keen for the playmaker to make a decision.
“It would be serious of Sneijder to do so, so I think they’re right to think that way,” the official said outside of his Milan offices on Monday.
The former Real Madrid man’s career at San Siro seems to have come to an end as he no longer features in the plans of boss Andrea Stramaccioni, while he’s rejected the club’s request to cut his salary by €2m a season.
Moratti was then asked whether Sneijder could be replaced by someone at his level this month, as well as the possibility that he could intervene in talks for Atalanta’s Ezequiel Schelotto.
“A Sneijder replacement? We’ll see,” he added. “As for Schelotto, these things need to be looked at with calm.”
Moratti also played down the fact that Antonio Cassano seemed to take his substitution badly during the win over Pescara.
“I honestly don’t think these things are very important,” he noted. “I’ve seen a thousand players do things like that.”
Moratti also insisted that the Coppa Italia was an "important objective" ahead of Tuesday’s match versus Bologna.
