Samir Handanovic has admitted that he was getting ready for penalties when Andrea Ranocchia secured Coppa Italia victory for Inter.

The Nerazzurri’s clash against Bologna stood at 2-2 until the defender popped up with a goal in the 120th minute.

“I was already thinking about penalties, but I'm really happy with the win,” the former Udinese custodian noted to Inter Channel after the game.

“It wasn't easy because Bologna are an excellent side.

“You expect teams to be less cagey in the Coppa Italia because it's a do-or-die game. We goalkeepers have to work a bit harder than in Serie A.

“Now we'll give it our best shot in the semi-finals. We just have to keep taking one step at a time.”

Inter will play the winners of the FiorentinaRoma clash.
