Milan target Pep Guardiola will become the new boss of Bayern Munich in the summer, it has been confirmed.
The Spaniard, currently on a sabbatical after years of success with Barcelona, was expected to join an English club ahead of 2013-14.
However, the former Brescia and Roma player will move to the Bundesliga instead after accepting a three-year contract.
"We are very pleased that we have succeeded, he is a football expert, Pep Guardiola, who was courted by many famous clubs, and is here to win for FC Bayern,” CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge noted.
“Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful Coaches in the world and we are sure that he can bring much sparkle to not just Bayern but also German football.
“We look forward to continuing the work from July 2013.”
Guardiola will replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of this season.
