Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed they are “close to concluding a deal” for Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino.
“We are close to concluding a deal for Sorrentino, although it will be difficult to have him at our disposal on Sunday,” Zamparini told Radio Radio.
The shot-stopper had also been linked with clubs such as Roma, Inter and Bologna, but the Rosanero appear to have won the race.
“I spoke to the players and from Sunday it will be the start of a new season. We absolutely must play for the three points against Lazio, even if they are a great team.
“Our problem is psychological and has nothing to do with the quality of the players available.”
