Maran trusts rejigged Catania

Catania Coach Rolando Maran has to do without four first choice players for the trip to Genoa. “We’ll be different, but still the same.”

Francesco Lodi and Nicola Legrottaglie are suspended, while Sergio Almiron, Giovanni Marchese and Fabio Sciacca are injured. Click here for a match preview.

“The greatest motivation is to surpass our own expectations,” declared Maran.

“We must constantly be growing, learning and eager to get better. It is crucial that our attitude remains ideal.

“There do have to be some changes due to absentees. We’ll be different, but still the same.”

While Catania are comfortably mid-table, Genoa are third from bottom and therefore stuck in the relegation zone.

“Genoa are a very physical side with a great impact, as their potential is much better than their current position would suggest,” insisted Maran.

“I admire Gigi Del Neri a great deal, as he is someone to be respected.”
