Former Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder has revealed that Jose Mourinho helped him decide to join Galatasaray.
The 28-year-old signed for the Turkish club on Sunday evening, and has claimed that his one-time boss at the Nerazzurri advised him to go to the Istanbul-based side.
“I am happy to be here,” he told reporters from the Turkish Press. “Before choosing this team I spoke with [Louis] Van Gaal and Mourinho, and they advised me to accept this offer.
“I also want to thank [Inter President Massimo] Moratti – our problems were only economic, never personal.
“I leave Inter on good terms – they allowed me to win everything possible.”
