It’s reported Inter could sell Philippe Coutinho to Southampton to raise funds for another Brazilian, as Paulinho is available from Corinthians for €18m.
There is a bidding war in the Premier League with Liverpool, Southampton and Aston Villa eager to snap up 20-year-old Coutinho.
There are rumours today that the Saints have won the race by raising their proposal to €12m – around £10.2m.
Sky Sport Italia suggest Inter are going to immediately reinvest that money in their offer for Paulinho.
The Brazilian midfielder has a release clause in his contract worth €18m, which would be raised from the sales of Coutinho and Wesley Sneijder.
Meanwhile, Inter have officially loaned 19-year-old midfielder Alfred Duncan to Serie B side Livorno until the end of the season.
