Montella curses Viola luck

Vincenzo Montella was left cursing Fiorentina’s luck and urging reinforcements after a 2-1 defeat to Catania.

“Once again today the team played well, showed maturity and created many scoring opportunities,” said the Coach.

“We seemed to have the game in hand, but that is football. At the end Catania hurt us, but our idea of football must not change.

“I don’t recall ever seeing such a period of bad luck and we have to hope the tide turns. We want to reach Europe, so our ambitions and ideas will not change.”

The Viola are lacking a centre-forward and have been linked with Juventus man Fabio Quagliarella.

“The club is vigilant on every opportunity. We have only just started this project, so are trying to work out how to improve the squad. We think that we know what is needed, but first we must see what the transfer market offers us.”
