Mauro Boselli has joined Palermo on-loan until the end of the season from Wigan Athletic, the Premier League club have confirmed.

The 27-year-old has found himself on the fringes of the first team at the DW Stadium, and has signed for Gian Piero Gasperini's side on a five-month deal.

The Rosanero have the option to sign the Argentine forward outright in the summer for €3m.

The former Boca Juniors man is set for second spell in Serie A having played for Genoa briefly in 2011.
