Milan have assured Giampaolo Pazzini that he still has a future at the club despite the arrival of Mario Balotelli from Manchester City.
“I personally phoned Pazzini before I concluded the Balotelli deal,” Vice-President Adriano Galliani told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I admitted to him that I had not maintained a promise, but I explained to him that he remained an important player for Milan, one that we are counting on.
“I’ve told him to remain calm and he said that he had been left reassured by my explanation and phone call.”
The 28-year-old summer signing from Inter has scored 10 goals in 20 Serie A games for the Diavolo.
