Palermo transfer chief Pietro Lo Monaco has hailed his club’s capture of Diego “Mona Lisa” Fabbrini.
The attacking midfielder joined the Rosanero in January after a loan deal was agreed with Udinese.
“I think you are all aware of Fabbrini,” Lo Monaco stated of the former Empoli and Italian Under-21 international.
“He’s a great talent and, in my opinion, he will be our Mona Lisa.”
Fabbrini’s move to Sicily did come as a surprise given that he was being hotly linked with a switch to Pescara.
“We worked on him in the dark? We were waiting on the river bank for the corpse to pass,” Lo Monaco added.
“He’s a really versatile and bold player. We’re counting on him.”
