“We have the belief and the enthusiasm to achieve an extraordinary win. We do believe that we can do it,” assured Corini.

“We’re aware of the difficulties that Juve can create for us, but when we have the battling spirit, the ability to hold on under pressure and stay within the game, we can do anything. My lads have improved a great deal and also have the quality needed in attack to hurt Juventus.

“I know the Bianconeri are going through a tough period and their very emotive reaction to results against Genoa and Lazio showed they are feeling the pressure. It is a negative streak we want to extend…”

Corini played for Juventus from 1990 to 1992 and shared some of his memories of The Old Lady.

“It was the dream of a 20-year-old lad who joined a big club. I still say that playing 47 games in two years was an important experience for me. Then, at the age of 22, it became difficult to find space in Giovanni Trapattoni’s system and I decided to take a different path.

“I remember when I first arrived at the HQ to sign my contract. I was only 19 and was wearing a jacket and tie for the first time in my life. I realised what it meant to join Juve, as those who go there think only of success. You can breathe it the moment you step into the building.

“My favourite memory was when President Gianni Agnelli said I was half Falcao and half Giuseppe Giannini. It was a wonderful compliment, as Falcao was my childhood hero.”

Chievo have given their first calls to January signings Samir Ujkani, Mario Sampirisi, Francesco Acerbi and Nikolaos Spyropoulos.

Chievo squad for Juventus: Puggioni, Ujkani, Squizzi, Andreolli, Dainelli, Cesar, Papp, Farkas, Acerbi, Sampirisi, Jokic, Frey, Spyropoulos, Guana, Cofie, Rigoni, Vacek, Seymour, Hetemaj, Paloschi, Pellissier, Thereau, Stoian
