Italy will go into tonight’s game against Holland in the knowledge that they have lost their last five friendly encounters.
The Azzurri have a poor record in non-competitive matches after Cesare Prandelli replaced Marcello Lippi in 2010.
Since then, his Azzurri side have won three friendlies, drawn two and lost seven.
Their only wins have come against Ukraine in March 2011, Spain in August 2011 and Poland in November 2011.
The Azzurri’s losing streak started with a 0-1 against Uruguay, and continued with a 0-1 versus America, 0-3 to Russia, 1-2 when faced with England and 1-2 against France last November.
Italy have only scored 10 goals in Prandelli’s 12 tests, while conceding 15.
The Azzurri do have a good record against the Dutch, though, with seven wins, seven draws and three losses in 17 encounters.
