Davide Ballardini has revived Genoa and hopes to continue causing upsets against Parma in the early kick-off, insisting Juraj Kucka “is worthy of Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
The Rossoblu were in a deep crisis after sacking both Gigi De Canio and his replacement Gigi Del Neri, but under Ballardini have held Juventus to a draw and beaten Lazio 3-2.
“We must have belief against Parma,” warned the Coach. Click here for a match preview.
“Against Lazio we played a good game, but there were things I really did not like and we must not repeat.
“I haven’t decided on the tactical system yet. The important thing is to play with the utmost concentration, as we are only at the start of our path towards safety.”
Ballardini was asked about the players at his disposal and had particular praise for midfielder Kucka.
“Kucka is a great player, worthy of Real Madrid and can even become worthy of Barcelona. I know that was an exaggeration, but he really is a player who can still give a great deal.
“Ciro Immobile is not incompatible with Marco Borriello, but many players who do well at Under-21 level then don’t find much room at club level. Patience is needed.”
