The agent of Hugo Campagnaro has revealed why his client’s contract at Napoli is just months away from expiring.
“It is all because of a timing issue,” Alejandro Mazzoni told Radio CRC on Monday. “When he wanted to renew the contract, Napoli didn’t.
“When Napoli wanted to extend it, the player didn’t…”
It is widely expected that the 32-year-old defender, who scored the equaliser at Lazio on Saturday night, will join Inter on a Bosman free transfer in June.
“Hugo is a great professional and he will certainly give his all until the end of the season,” Mazzoni added. “Then we’ll see what happens.
“But I don’t believe that it is right to talk about his contract renewal or the transfer market right now. We should be talking about what the player and Napoli are doing.”
