Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has admitted that the contract renewals of Luis Cavanda and Modibo Diakite have 'taken the wrong path'.
The defensive pair see their contracts run out in 2014 and June 2013 respectively, and the Biancocelesti administrator has conceded that the likelihood of keeping them at the club looks slim, with reports that Diakite is on the verge of a move to Napoli in the summer.
“Diakite is under contract with us and we know what the situation is,” he told reporters.
“All the arrangements for Cavanda's renewal were in place, but they have fallen through.
“Lazio have done everything possible to get Cavanda and Diakite to sign new contracts, but everyone knows what the situation is.
“I think this whole affair has taken the wrong path.”
