The Azzurri failed to sign the striker in January after making a €12m bid. There are now reports that Inter are ready to offer €15m for his services.

“I don’t know what his agents are doing, but we will not be involved in any auction,” sporting director Riccardo Bigon noted.

“We have or market strategies and we’re keeping to them.

“We have an excellent relationship with Sampdoria, but let us not forget that we are only in the month of February.”

Icardi has scored eight goals in 18 Serie A games for the Stadio Ferraris outfit.
