Roma boss Aurelio Andreazzoli says that Pablo Daniel Osvaldo will start against Juventus if he is 100 per cent fit.
Osvaldo has been struggling with a knee problem, but there was a suggestion that he could be benched as a consequence of the penalty fiasco at Marassi last week.
The Argentine-born Italian international opted to take the spot-kick duty away from Francesco Totti and subsequently missed.
“Osvaldo will play if he is in shape, there is no doubt about that,” the man who replaced Zdenek Zeman noted. “It has been a heavy week for him, one where a lot of untruths have been written.”
It’s unclear how the Giallorossi will line up amid talk that they will play with a three-man defence and install Totti as a centre-forward.
“We have a number of tactical solutions,” the tactician added. “We’ll think about the work done this week and then decide.
“Francesco can play anywhere, he’s proved that. It’s an intriguing idea, but we’ll have to see.”
Roma are now ninth in the table after collecting just two points from their last six League games.
“The objective is to win the next game. We’ll look to get out of this situation by winning tomorrow and then the next one. We have to be realistic though as the situation is not an easy one.
“There will be a big crowd, we are up against some honourable opponents, it’s a unique opportunity and we won’t go missing.”
It certainly won’t be easy for the Giallorossi as Juventus are the League leaders. Although they will be without the suspended Claudio Marchisio and Federico Peluso.
“Juve are a really strong side, a team that I greatly admire so I have had to prepare for it like a maniac. But the values of the two sides are not represented by the present League table.
“Antonio Conte has done a great job and I compliment him, it’s a pleasure to watch his side play football.
“Marchisio is a phenomenal player and his absence could be an advantage for us. However, Paul Pogba is a player of value, but Conte can tell you more about him than me.”
