Vladimir Petkovic says Lazio and Juventus can’t complain about fatigue after European games. “We wanted the bicycle, so now let’s get pedalling.”

The Biancocelesti played a spectacular 3-3 draw away to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Europa League on Thursday, so their Serie A game with Siena has been moved to Monday evening.

“We have no alibis. Europe can cause tiredness, as we saw with Juventus losing to Roma last night, but we wanted the bicycle, so now let’s get pedalling,” smiled Petkovic in his Press conference.

“We are close to the levels we were at a few weeks ago, so I am not worried. Are we thinking about the Scudetto? No, if anything we’re looking over our shoulder, seeing as from the start of the season people treat us as if we’re a little club…”

Lazio have traditionally had problems against Siena and lost here 4-0 last season.

“We must not fail. This game will require us to play at 120 per cent of our potential. It’s true we have been a little unlucky recently, but fortune favours the brave.

“It just means we must be more concentrated and gritty, especially in defence. We can’t keep conceding goals on set pieces!”

Cristian Ledesma sits out a ban, while Stefano Mauri needs a fitness test to join Miroslav Klose and Cristian Brocchi on the absentee list.

“I will have to make a few changes, seeing as there are injuries and suspensions. Mauri hasn’t managed a single training session with the team.

“Libor Kozak needs to do better in Serie A, because you can tell he plays better for us in Europe.”
