Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro has insisted that his side couldn’t do any more than they did against a defensive Sampdoria.
The Azzurri were held to a 0-0 draw at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday after the Marassi outfit, according to Cannavaro, opted to park the bus.
“We tried everything,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “But it wasn’t easy against a Sampdoria side who came here to defend with eight men.
“It’s only logical that sides come to face us and will be happy with the draw, but we always aim to win. We really couldn’t do anything more.”
Napoli could have moved to within two points of leaders Juventus after they lost at Roma on Saturday. Instead, the Bianconeri are four points clear.
