Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella is ready to take charge of a European giant, says Pietro Lo Monaco.
The latter was the man responsible for hiring the former Roma tactician at Catania in the summer of 2011.
Montella subsequently joined Fiorentina at the start of the present campaign.
“Montella is ready to boss a big club,” the former Genoa and Palermo official told Radio Toscana on Monday afternoon.
“He would do well in a club which was battling to win a League title, here in Italy or abroad,” Lo Monaco continued.
“He has great qualities and if he matures then he could look to get a job of the very highest level.”
The 38-year-old Montella is a former striker with the likes of Empoli, Genoa, Sampdoria, Roma, Fulham and Sampdoria.
