Lazio have released a statement after Abdoulay Konko got into a shouting match with supporters at the final whistle of their 3-0 defeat to Siena.

The Biancocelesti were humiliated 3-0 at the Stadio Franchi last night and after the game Konko was seen shouting at a group of supporters in the stands.

Konko was furious and had to be hauled back down the players’ tunnel by teammates.

“The player Abdoulay Konko points out there was no altercation with Lazio supporters,” read a statement released by the club.

“The incident that provoked the reaction of the player was a series of heavy personal insults from a person in the central stands of the Tuscan stadium.

“Disappointed by the final result, the athlete regrets what happened and underlines there is no problem with the Biancocelesti fans.”
