There are fears Andrea Ranocchia will miss Sunday’s Milan Derby after he limped off during Inter’s 3-0 win against Cluj.
The defender suddenly pulled up and appeared to twist his right knee as he landed on the touchline.
He immediately went to ground and called for medical assistance, not coming back on to the field despite the fact Inter had completed all their substitutions.
“I’m glad we put in a good performance tonight, but we are again unlucky with Ranocchia picking up a knee injury. We absolutely could’ve done without that,” said Coach Andrea Stramaccioni.
Inter are already likely to be without Walter Samuel for the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday evening, while Alvaro Pereira is suspended.
Other absentees are Diego Milito, Gaby Mudingayi, Joel Obi and Luca Castellazzi.
