Andrea Stramaccioni has promised Inter will face the Milan Derby “with no fear. You think they are the favourites, whereas I see a balanced game.”

The Rossoneri are the favourites on current form in Serie A and the Champions League, while they can also count on Mario Balotelli.

“It will be a great game, we can’t wait to play it and do well,” said Coach Stramaccioni in his Press conference.

“The team is still in the process of tactical evolution and let’s not forget this is a new side. We have 15 new players and must try to find the right balance. We got some great results with the three-man defence, then some uncertainties set in. Losing Diego Milito also forced us to change in attack.

“Antonio Cassano? For the good of Inter I will pick the best formation possible to win. That’s not to say Cassano won’t play, it’s just that I have to consider everyone’s situation, not just those who would be facing their former clubs.

“You think Milan are the favourites, whereas I see a balanced game. It was important to get a good performance against Cluj after the Fiorentina defeat, where we got everything wrong, as in Romania we found the right path again.

“The support of the fans will be crucial and they were close to us even when we lost against the club at the bottom of the table. I am convinced they’ll drag us forward to the end, being our 12th man.”

Injuries and bans make Stramaccioni’s job tricky, as Alvaro Pereira is suspended, while Diego Milito, Walter Samuel, Andrea Ranocchia, Matias Silvestre, Luca Castellazzi and Gaby Mudingayi are out.

“We do have a problem in defence, as we have at most three centre-backs available,” confessed the Coach.

“We want to play this game anyway and none of my players will step on to the field with fear. In fact, I think we’ll go out there with hunger for victory.

“It is very exciting for me to go into a Milan Derby. The choreography, the history and enthusiasm of the fans are all amazing and you cannot wait to get into these games. Last season Douglas Maicon’s goal was unforgettable. We hope to make more great memories tomorrow.

“Balotelli is a strong player, but there are many champions at Milan. M’Baye Niang is a very talented young player, while Kevin-Prince Boateng can be decisive on his day. We have more experience, but whatever happens both sides will stay in the fight for a Champions League spot.

“These are two huge teams in a city that lives for football. We hope to provide a spectacle, as always.”
