Cagliari forward Marco Sau is on the transfer radar of Italian giants Roma, reports the Corriere dello Sport.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation in Sardinia this season thanks to 11 goals in 22 top-flight games for his club.

Cagliari, however, value the player at around €12m – a figure deemed as excessive by the Stadio Olimpico outfit.

Roma are ready to tempt the Rossoblu with a player plus cash offer. However, the frosty relationship between the two clubs could represent a problem in talks.
