Bucchi to boss Pescara

Pescara say that Christian Bucchi will take charge of the side even if he doesn’t have the necessary coaching qualifications.

The Delfini will promote the Primavera boss to the bench after Cristiano Bergodi was sacked at the weekend.

“Bucchi will have special dispensation for the next 30 days,” Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani told Sky Sport Italia. “That will give us enough time to find a solution.”

The seaside outfit held talks with Marco Giampaolo over the vacant position, but they failed to convince him to take the job.

“To take charge of a club with 11 games left is not the best scenario,” Sebastiani explained.

“We offered a project that went beyond the next three months, but there is no guarantee what Division we will be in next season and that has scared people away.

“It’s a shame as Giampaolo is a Coach who we could have started a serious project with – he’s young and good.”

Pescara are bottom of the table and will play Atalanta this weekend.
