Bologna’s Saphir Taider has been called up to the Algerian national squad for their World Cup qualifier against Benin.
The midfielder, aged 21, was capped at international youth level by France, but he’s now opted to represent Algeria.
Taider was born in France to an Algerian mother and a Tunisian father. The Bologna man’s brother, Nabil Taider, is a Tunisian international.
Algeria face Benin on March 26.
