Roberto Mancini has claimed that he and Mario Balotelli were nothing like Andrea Stramaccioni and Antonio Cassano.

The Inter striker was reported to have had a frank exchange with the Coach last week, and was subsequently left out of the Nerazzurri squad for the match with Catania, as well as being fined €40,000.

But the Manchester City boss has claimed that there was never a physical confrontation whilst Balotelli was in England.

“Mario and I are like Stramaccioni and Cassano? Never,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “When Mario made a bad foul in training, I called him back by pulling his shirt – then the tabloids created a story out of it.

“Mario will never change who he is, but the important thing is that he learns to behave properly on the field.”
